Responsibilities
- Create systems specifications and electronic hardware definitions
- Select hardware and software suppliers and oversee their work
- Lead implementation using rapid prototyping, hardware-in-the-loop systems, test bench development, and in-vehicle development
- Lead implementation of control strategies based on powertrain systems, and implementing them based on algorithms design, systems modeling, and simulation of mechanical and electronic control systems requirements
- Provide insight into short and long-tem evolution of test and validation requirements to future vehicles
- Prepare staffing plans and development of staff to meet requirements of programs and customer projects
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- BSEE (MSEE desired) and 8+ years of experience in automotive control systems development.
- Experience in gasoline engine controls, diesel engine controls, or aftertreatment systems.
- You must have a good background in overall electronic control systems design, development, and validation, including EMC/EMI testing procedures, knowledge of automotive vehicle networking standards (CAN, J1850, etc), DFPMEA/FTA/Hazard Analysis, DVP&R/ADV, and modeling/simulation tools such as Matlab, Simulink, or ASCET-SD.
- As this will be a lead role, you must have experience in a leadership position.
- Excellent communication skills as you’ll be working between multiple teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment
- A strong sense of accountability and a desire to continually improve.
Additional Beneficial Skills
- A background in management of contract electronics manufacturing (CEM)
